Regent Safaris is owner run by John and Ann Evans who were honoured as a Winner at the prestigious South African Tourism Welcome Awards ceremony on 8 May 2011.

South African Tourism CEO Thankdiwe January-McLean opened the ceremony by saying the Welcome Awards were critical in promoting a culture of service excellence within the tourism industry.  “Our country’s reputation as a world-class destination is dependent not only on our tourism  attractions, but on the quality of the service we provide to the local and international traveller”.

There are several Kruger Safari itineraries and each can be extended and adapted to include other activities, i.e. hot air ballooning, spectacular helicopter flights over Blyde River Canyon, Endangered Wildlife Tours, Bush Walks, Night Safaris, Elephant Interaction with short rides and Panorama Tours, just to mention a few.Living next to the Kruger National Park, they have the experience and knowledge to advise and organise your entire stay, including recommending and booking of hotels / lodges, road transfers from Nelspruit MQP airport, Johannesburg OR Tambo airport, Sandton and local venues.

The Kruger is home to 147 species of mammal, 33 amphibian species, 50 fish species, 115 species of reptiles, 230 species of butterfly, over 500 bird species, 200 species of trees and many different types of botanical wonders. Open Vehicle Safaris are a true ‘Out of Africa’ experience; the vehicles are specially designed safari vehicles offering comfort with an elevated view of wildlife. Our qualified, professional and personable guides will enthrall you with their knowledge and passion of the bush and its inhabitants. The local Guides, having been born and bred in the environment, their rendition of local folk traditions and culture are recalled from the cradle and they offer a new and fresh perspective of nature and history of this land.

All vehicles are fitted with 2-way radios, enabling communication of the best wildlife sightings. You could be a witness to one of nature’s rare sightings such as the ‘Battle at Kruger’, the most watched wildlife clip in the history of YouTube and now a National Geographic documentary. The guide whose guest videoed the incredible scene of events was alerted to the amazing unfolding scene by a colleague on the radio. If you prefer to escape the elements of the African climate, opt for a private Safari in an air-conditioned eight-seater vehicle - preferably 2-4 guests to ensure window seats for all. Your hosts, John & Ann, both accredited THETA Tour Guides, have specialised in personalised tours for over ten years.

PRIVATE GAME LODGES:
We have included in our portfolio exclusive private game lodges in the Sabie Sand Reserve, an area well known for its spectacular game viewing, and two private concessions in the Kruger National Park. For the ideal wildlife experience, combine our Safari with a private game lodge.ROAD

TRANSFERS:
Competitive transfer rates from Nelspruit MQP airport to hotels and lodges in the Mpumalanga area. Road transfers are arranged from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport and Sandton to Hazyview, a journey of 4 to 5 hours.

TOUR GUIDES:
John and Ann's passion for the Kruger National Park motivated them to make drastic career changes over 10 years ago, moving from Johannesburg to live just outside the Kruger. They are both qualified Tourist Guides and registered with THETA (Tourism, Hospitality & Sport Education & Training Authority). Apart from guiding private Kruger Safaris, John guides the Blyde River Canyon Tours and Endangered Wildlife Tours sharing his knowledge of the history of the region. At the South African Tourism Welcome Awards at Indaba in Durban on 8 May 2011, an Award was presented to Ann in recognition of exceptional service in the South African Tourism Market. Together with their Open Vehicle Safari Guides, who will enthrall and entertain with their passion of the bush and its inhabitants, they form an inspirational team.

ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodation in the Kruger National Park is in en-suite air conditioned rondavels/chalets. For a wildlife experience enhanced by more comfortable accommodation, better amenities, extensive menu choices and good quality food, see our popular Kruger Boutique Safaris. We offer a budget friendly 3 star option and 4 star options which include a lodge with stunning mountain views and a country hotel within a 500 hectare nature and game reserve. Itineraries with photographs of the lodges are forwarded on enquiries. Whichever option you select, we will endeavour to ensure you have a memorable wildlife experience.

WILDLIFE SAFARIS TO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK:
We pride ourselves on personalised service with the ability to be flexible and meet the needs of our guests. We will tailor make a Safari of any duration and this can include  other activities such as tours to Blyde River Canyon, Moholoholo & Endangered Wildlife, Elephant Interaction & Rides, Hot Air Balloon Flights and scenic Helicopter flights over waterfalls and God’s Window. A typical 2 night Open Safari Vehicle Kruger itinerary: an afternoon Kruger Safari on Day 1 and a full day on Day 2. A morning Safari on Day 3 can also be included. Private Safaris in open safari vehicles and closed air-conditioned vehicles are available on request.

DAY SAFARIS TO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK:
We pick-up from a hotel/lodge in and around Hazyview approximately 15 minutes before the Kruger National Park gates open. We enter in the southern section, where sightings of Elephant and Buffalo herds, Lions, Rhino and a variety of general game including Giraffe, Zebra and various antelope species are often seen. A Hyena can sometimes be sighted returning home after a night of hunting and it's possible that an elusive Leopard is spotted stalking through the bushveld.
